First off, you need two clean, dry one pound coffee cans with plastic lids to do this.
Shift together 1 ½ cups of flour and the yeast. Heat milk, water,oil, sugar and salt over a low heat until warm, stirring to blend. Add liquid ingredients to the flour-yeast mixture and beat until very smooth. Blend in eggs. Stir in rest of flour to make a stiff batter. Beat until smooth and elastic.
Divide into two well-greased 1 pound coffee cans. Cover with plastic lids and let rise in a warm place until light and bubbly, about an hour. Remove lids and bake at 375 for 30 or 35 minutes or until done. Let cool for at 15 minutes before removing. Store unused bread right in the can, with the lid on, to keep it fresh.
