THE MODEL “A:  OF THE '70s

                                                            It's the Model A

                                                            Of the ‘70s,

                                                            The mechanic declared.

                                                            It'll last forever.

                                                            Turn that thing in

                                                            On an update,

                                                            My friends protested.

                                                            It's a relic.

                                                            It's traveled 105,000 miles

                                                            In its 20-year life,

                                                            The odometer revealed.

                                                            Many years to go.

I took it to a paint shop

                                                            One day in June

                                                            To get an estimate.

                                                            Arrangements were made.

                                                            I went to an upholsterer

                                                            The same day

                                                            Concerning the interior.

                                                            Work was scheduled.

                                                            Today I'm driving
